Springfield Sports Anchor Joins WolfPack

05/23/08 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - Charlie Hannema, sports anchor and reporter for CBS affiliate KOLR -10 and KSFX Ozarks Fox 27 in Springfield, Missouri has joined the Springfield WolfPack and will play in the football game Saturday against the Missouri Minutemen.

"You got to start somewhere," said WolfPack Head Coach Terry Edwards.

Hannema (6'-3" 220), who has has eyed playing with the WolfPack since arriving in Springfield three months ago and finding out there was a professional indoor football team in the city, says he's prepared.

"I didn't play college football, but I was on the sidelines covering Mizzou for three seasons while working in Columbia, so I must have picked up something from Coach Pinkel and the guys," said Hannema. "They're going to be shocked."

WolfPack Look For Revenge, This Time At Home

05/17/08 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - "They're going to be shocked," said Springfield WolfPack Head Coach Terry Edwards two days before the WolfPack hosted the Iowa after a two week break between games with the Blackhawks.

Edwards was referring to the fact that his team played without 8 starting players, who were not in uniform in the first meeting with Iowa, a 57-13 loss in Council Bluffs.

WolfPack Open 2008 Season On Road With Kansas

04/19/08 - TOPEKA, KS - New faces and a new season await the Springfield WolfPack when they travel to Kansas tonight for a matchup with the Koyotes and hope to avenge both losses to the 5 time American Professional Football League (APFL) Champions last year.

This game will not be broadcast by WebSports Radio, but we will provide a game summary and post-game interviews with players.

WSR will broadcast next weekend's home game against the Missouri Minutemen live starting at 6:50 with the pregame show.

WolfPack Announce '08 Schedule, Website And Ticket Prices

03/03/08 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield WolfPack Professional Indoor Football Team will be back for the 2008 season in the American Professional Football League (APFL) and their second season at Jordan Valley Ice Park. Season two will feature a 10-game schedule with 7 games at home and 3 on the road. All games will start at 7:05pm and be played on a Saturday with the exception of June 13 th which will be played on a Friday at 7:35pm.

Springfield starts the season on the road with Kansas on April 19 th at the Kansas Expocentre. The WolfPack’s first home game will be the following weekend on April 26 th at Jordan Valley Ice Park.

Other home games feature: May 17 th versus the Iowa Blackhawks, May 24 th versus the Missouri Minutemen, May 31 st versus the Nebraska Extreme, June 7 th versus the Kansas Koyotes, July 5 th versus the Blackhawks, and July 12 th versus the Extreme. The remaining road games for the WolfPack include two games with the Blackhawks on May 3 rd and June 13 th (Friday) at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The playoffs are scheduled for July 19 th and 26 th, 2008.

Springfield is part of the APFL which includes returning teams, the Iowa Blackhawks (Council Bluffs), Nebraska Extreme (formerly Omaha Extreme, now in Lincoln), Kansas Koyotes (Topeka), Missouri Minutemen (St. Joseph), Texas Regulators (Alvarado, formerly Fort Worth), and Conroe Storm (Texas). New teams in the League this season are the Wichita Falls Diablos ( Texas), Beaumont Drillers ( Texas), and Florida Knights ( Sarasota). The Drillers and Knights are transfers from the National Indoor Football League.

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Springfield WolfPack, the team is forced to change the web extension of the official website. The new WolfPack website address is: www.springfieldwolfpack.net.

Individual Ticket prices for the 2008 season will remain the same as last year. Front row tickets, will be $15, reserved seating in the stands will be $9, and general admission around the field will be $7. Season tickets (for 7 home games) will be $100 for the front row, $58 for reserved, and $45 for general admission. Again this year the team will allow fans on the playing surface for 30 minutes after the game to meet WolfPack players who will be available to sign autographs.

The Springfield WolfPack finished their first season in an indoor facility with a 6-6 overall record and 5-6 in APFL play.
