Loss ends Springfield's 5 game winning streak

11/07/14 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - Two shorthanded goals by Matt Levene and power play goals from Petr Kobes were more than enough to give the Oklahoma City Jr Blazers a 4-2 win over the Springfield Express Nov. 7 in game one at Mediacom Ice Park.

Vito Divito scored the opening goal of the game for the Express taking Quade Hamlin's pad from behind the net to put it past Jakub Krejci at 8:09 of the first period.

Nikita Perviakov notched his second goal of the season on a pass from Linus Dahlberg, moved to his right, then lifted the puck over Krejci's shoulder with 7:42 to play in the second period.

Krejci faced 56 shots stopping 52 as Springfield attempted to get closer late in the second and third periods but couldn't capitalize. Express net minder Oliver Eklund saw 42 shots from the Jr Blazers.

Springfield went 0 for 5 on the power play and Oklahoma City was 2 for 4 in game one.

Express host Tulsa looking for record victory

10/24/14 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield Express match the five win total of its former team — the New Mexico Renegades — with a 4-3 victory over the Tulsa Jr. Oilers on Friday, Oct. 24.

Seth Ensor netted a pair of goals and Vito Divito scored the game winner with a backhanded shot over the blocker of Tulsa goaltender Teke Murphy. Divito added the powerplay goal with 7:48 remaning in the third to give the Express breathing room.

Sam Hiserodt tallied a pair of goals for Tulsa — one on the powerplay — and Egor Yaragin added the other goal with a man advantage.

Philip Babb earns his third win of the season and Murphy takes the loss. Springfield went 2-for-4 and Tulsa was 2-for-6 on the powerplay.

Both teams play again at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. with the pregame show at 6:55.

WSR to broadcast Springfield Express home games

09/20/14 - SPRINGFIELD, MO - WebSports Radio will broadcast the Springfield Express Jr A hockey team games live starting with game two against the Wichita Junior Thunder on Sept. 20.

Join Steve Casson and Dan Dowell for all the action. WSR will continue to broadcast Missouri State hockey and have added the Express to the hockey schedule.

Pregame starts at 6:50 p.m for Friday and Saturday games, and 1:50 p.m. before the Sunday contest.

Springfield won it's first hockey game in franchise history 5-3 over Wichita Sept. 19 on the strength of a pair of goals from Vito DeVito, who notched the first-ever Express goal at 13:47 of the first period.

Game two was a 6-1 win with Seth Ensor netting a hat trick in the first period to lead Springfield, while game 3 was also a 9-2 win for the Express.
