About Steve
As the Director of Broadcasting and Media for the Missouri State Ice Bears Hockey team the past 12 seasons, I have produced, engineered and called over 650 games for the organization on broadcast radio and the Internet.
This includes hosting the Ice Bears Coaches radio show, keeping team statistics, game summaries and serving as webmaster of the Ice Bears team website.
Currently, I handle all press releases, game scheduling, and assumed assistant general manager responsibilities in 2015 which added marketing along with merchandising to my list of responsibilities.
Additional broadcasting duties include play-by-play for the Springfield Express, a Tier II Junior A hockey team which also plays at Mediacom Ice Park.
My writing abilities are showcased during a two-year assignment as Sports Editor for the Christian County Headliner News in Ozark, Missouri where I won an award for best sports feature article in the Missouri Press Association Journalism awards in 2014.
Additionally, I am the Northwest Division correspondent for the Western States Hockey League.
I am a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State) and have a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism, a minor in Communications, and one in Print Media.
Play-by-play of additional sports includes baseball, indoor football and basketball.
